In 1991 he was nominated for Country Male Vocalist awards at the Junos and the Country Music Awards. By 1994 he had landed a deal with Rodeo Records who picked up the tab on album number 2 – ‘Let’s Deal Again’.

Marie has been rewarded with RPM’s Big Country nomination as Outstanding New Artist, as well as winning Female Vocalist Of The Year 1983 & 1984 at the CCMA Awards and in 2010 Inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

U-TURN

For the past 20 years, U-Turn has entertained with their classic country sound, playing monthly dances at the Cambridge French Club, Legions, the Conestoga Trail Bluegrass Festival, & more. The band is anchored by father & son Leonard & Josh Fortier who share the lead singing duties. Depending on the venue & band configuration, you may see Leonard playing bass or acoustic guitar; with Josh on electric guitar, bass or drums. During the past 5 years, they have been joined by Mike Weber on pedal steel for most of their gigs, with other talented country musicians making regular guest appearances.

The Barrel Boys

A bluegrass powerhouse featuring rich vocal harmonies, killer picking, and a fun-loving, down-to-earth stage presence, The Barrel Boys are a unique staple of Canadian roots music. New Cumberland

Featuring inventive solo work, driving rhythms and three-part vocal harmonies, New Cumberland’s musical integrity and joy in playing together resonates in every performance. The resumes for the various individuals in New Cumberland include bluegrass stints with the Dixie Flyers, Rural Retreat and Cumberland Wail – as well as wide ranging experiences outside bluegrass in rock and folk music.

The Highbanks Bluegrass Band

HighBanks is one of the most entertaining bluegrass bands you’ll find anywhere. The band draws from a wide variety of material including traditional bluegrass music, pop and show tunes, country, originals and more. Their outstanding instrumental talent and tight vocal harmonies bring new life to many of the standards that bluegrass fans are familiar with as well as creating innovative arrangements for originals and songs drawn from other genres. Granite Hill

Granite Hill is based out of Southwestern Ontario and includes members with many years of experience in bluegrass and other musical genres. They entertain with a mixture of contemporary and traditional bluegrass material, including harmony vocals, dynamic instrumentals, and even a few numbers imported from country or folk.

Rescue Junction

Rescue Junction is an award winning Canadian bluegrass band based in Ontario that has been travelling and singing together since 2009. Originally comprised of brother and sister, Kyle & Kaitlyn Gerber on mandolin and guitar respectively, the band has grown to include Roger Martin on banjo, Dallas Roth on upright bass and Nick Huber on dobro.
